In my journey to pistol mastery, these are the latest 7 errors I’ve discovered and fixed. I’m always looking for ways to improve things, but some parts of shooting become so integrated that I stop thinking about them and then they may degrade or I may change something in my technique.
After my loooooong break from pistol shooting while studying, I finally came back to ASTir Creil to train with the MOP team, Aurore and Daniel Goberville. Following the French season calendar, the team was back to training to prepare the 10m French National Championship. This is what we did.
A new MOP training plan focused on 25m pistol and is a follow up of training plan 1 and training plan 2, under the direction of coach Daniel Goberville. Challenges, new final format training, medal matches… all for Precision and Rapid Fire Pistol (RFP). A whole day of training at the 25m range 🙂
This MOP training plan focuses on 25m pistol and is a follow up of this training plan. Under the direction of coach Daniel Goberville we spent a full day training at the 25m range and it was great to be outdoors for a change (the ASTir Creil range has really nice installations), although my thumb ended up sore from all the loading, which was a great incentive to find ways to protect it.
This is the first in a series of four full day MOP team group training plans with coach Daniel Goberville to prepare the French 25m Pistol national championships. Air pistol training is also included to keep the skill and to improve for all other pistol shooting.
This is the training plan that Daniel Goberville sent to the Team M.O.P. members to do the day before the IRS Cup 2022 air pistol competition started to get used to the range and ready to perform.
The IRS cup in Belgium is next week and my shooting has degraded a lot in the last week and a half (results and SCATT files at the end of this post). To combat this and get ready for the competition Daniel Goberville has sent me this training plan to reconstruct my shooting sequence.
To prepare next week’s French National Championship air pistol competition, Daniel brought in the MOP team for a full day to finish up our training. We trained for both precision and standard air pistol, and did a very interesting session to help us deal with the pressure and have sensible goals.
All the pistol coaches I’ve worked with use challenges and contracts in their training plans, usually adding more demand as competitions approach. After my first training session with Philippe Stiel he sent me a great email explaining contracts, so as to change my training plan and to improve coordination in training and competition. So far I’ve also worked with challenges and contracts with coaches Daniel Goberville, Santiago Gómez Salgado and Dina Aspandiyarova. This is my interpretation of their take on the use of challenges and contracts, with examples.
