Nobody deserves to shoot poorly.
That’s why I created this website, and it’s why I started coaching. After years of writing, publishing training plans, and sharing resources for pistol shooters around the world, coaching was the natural next step. Because sometimes you need someone to actually look at what you’re doing and help you fix it.

Who I Am
I’m Ramon Suarez. I’m a competitive ISSF pistol shooter based in Brussels, Belgium — and I’m still actively competing, not as a formality but because being on the line is how I keep learning. Every session, every competition teaches me something I bring back into my coaching.
Over the years I’ve trained with some of the best coaches I could find across Europe, and I’ve learned something different from each of them. Along the way I’ve earned multiple podiums in national and international competitions, including a national record. I know what it means to improve under pressure, to hit a plateau, and to break through.
I’m not a former shooter who coaches from memory. I’m still working on my own shooting — still figuring things out, just like you.
I hold the ISSF Academy Pistol Coach C & D diplomas and I’m completing the Moniteur Sportif Initiateur certification with the URSTBF (Belgian shooting federation). I’ve been coaching individual shooters and running club sessions for several years.
How I Work
Technique is the foundation. Hold, trigger, breathing, routine — if anything has cracks, we find them and fix them before building anything on top. For rapid fire events, that also means working on signal reaction, series tempo, and target transition under time pressure. I use video analysis and targeted drills.
Physical training is more important than most shooters realise. Stability, endurance, and fine motor control under fatigue all affect your scores directly. We look at what your body needs — it doesn’t have to be complicated, but ignoring it leaves points on the table.
Mental training is the finishing layer. The mental work is about focusing on what actually matters, managing anxiety, and enjoying your shooting more. A calmer, more present shooter performs better — and has more fun doing it.
You need to understand what you’re doing and why. I explain the reasoning behind everything. My goal is that you become a better self-coach over time — not more dependent on me.
I’ll tell you what I see, not what you want to hear. If something isn’t working, I’ll say so directly. I expect the same from you: tell me when something isn’t clicking, when the training feels off, when life gets complicated.
Every shooter is different. I adapt to your goals, your schedule, and your starting point — not the other way around.

What Shooters Say
Since Ramon started coaching me, my shooting has improved. His skills and enthusiasm have been very motivational — he has given me new techniques, polished existing skills using a range of interesting drills and exercises. His feedback has been concise and positive.
He has helped me develop a different mindset for pistol shooting, and this has paid off with improved scores and increased enjoyment. He is a great communicator, with a deep knowledge of his subject and the ability to get the message across clearly. He was able to teach me in English without any issues.

I’ve had a great time practicing under Ramón. He’s been helpful with a starting shooter like me. We’ve gone a lot through the basics and I’ve seen my technique improve as a whole. He has taken me out of the comfort zone but to a place that I can get to without feeling blocked. Sessions are good and comments are a good way to take a look at yourself and improve what you’re doing.

Before we work together, we talk. 30 minutes, no charge, no commitment.
I want to understand where you are as a shooter, what you’re trying to achieve, and what’s getting in the way. You get to ask me anything and decide if I’m the right person to help you. If we’re a match, we agree on how to move forward and get to work. If not, I’ll do my best to point you in the right direction.
